Fishing report for week ending 01/08/19

Our Lodge pools have a green tinge caused by the low lying blanket weed, as yet not affecting the fishing , the gin pool is still clear but again with a slight green hue, the top pool is crystal clear, the pools remain cool and have fished well all week although some days a little more challenging.
5 year old Jake Brewster came fishing for the first time and with a little assistance  landed 5.  Gareth Hill, Tod Watkins and Nick Johnson had a great days fishing all caught well with Todd’s first cast landing him a 7lb 1oz Rainbow from the gin pool, caught on a blue fritz.
Mike Harrison from Abertillery caught a 3lb Rainbow on a cats whisker.
Rob Britten was waiting at the gates at 7.15 am on Monday and was all bagged up and ready to go buy 8.45 am, he caught his 3 on his favourite pheasant tail nymph.
Martin Hill  caught 4 all on a green buzzer on the gin pool. Popular flies this week have been blue flash damsels, bloodworm, green spiders, pheasant tail nymphs, green buzzers, egg flies klinkhammer and hoppers. We open every day from 7.30 am.
