The Bigwell Blog – Week 26/09/19

Fishing report for week ending 26/ 09/19

Great weather at the start of our fishing week brought plenty of Anglers through the gates and although fishing was very challenging our Anglers perseverance paid off with a rod average of 3 fish.
George Dickman and Tony Talbot caught well on a very challenging day when the fish decided they were going to be difficult to catch, George caught 2 rainbows on aps bloodworm and Tony caught 2 on a black hopper.
Doing it for the ladies was Kim Wade who caught on a zonker, And Marks Jeavons took his first fish of the day on a black cats whisker. Both from the lower lodge pool. Chelsea Parham on her second visit to Bigwell landed several Rainbows and showed us all what a brilliant angler she is. The weather turned on Sunday to downpours of rain but didn’t stop our Anglers from turning out, waterproofs and umbrellas made an appearance and our pools fished well. Father and son David and Ryan Williams who drove down from Lichfield had a very successful day catching 14 fish between them on a variety of flies including chamois, black and green cats whiskers, bloodworm and klinkhammers. Biggest catch this week was a beautiful 8lb 2oz Rainbow from the gin pool caught by 16 year old Jason Millard from Cwmbran on a olive klinkhammer, we have entered this fish into Troutmasters competition . We are open every day from 7.30 am.
