The Bigwell Blog – Week 12/09/19

Fishing report for week ending 12/ 09/19

Nice to meet Gordon Swain for the first time here at Bigwell, Gordon fishes for the England team, what an amazing angler, he is a pleasure to watch, Gordon was catching well on Shipmans buzzer .
Seems to have been a ladies week this week when A Beautifully marked Rainbow was caught by expert American fly fisher Chelsea Parham who Attributed her first fish to the blood on her fly from a thumb prick while handling it….well you never know.
Sarah Thomson enjoyed her birthday fishing treat courtesy of her old boss Tim May, and caught a beautiful Rainbow.
We have had a delivery of Tiger trout this week from Torre trout farm, lovely healthy looking fish.  These will be catch and release only , we find they successfully keep down the fry from the perch and Rudd in  our pools , and also make for great sport as they are very hard fighters, so if you feel like a challenge, come on down.
One of our Tag fish was caught on Tuesday, but unfortunately we were unable to pay the £200 pot as the Angler had not entered, you have to be in it to win it…..l
Popular flies this week have been damsels, klinkhammer, black gnat dry fly, deer hair emerger, buzzers, green spiders and blobs. We are open every day from 7.30 am.
